Dateline October 19, 1872 (Buffalo Courier) ĽA correspondent of the Fredonia Advertiser writes that the Indians on the Cattaraugus reservation refuse to see the right of way for the Buffalo and Jamestown railroad, via Gowanda, but will donate it via Versaillies. Dateline 1997 editors note: This same event later escalated to the Indians setting rubbish fires on their reservations to further protest the states actions with regards to Indian affairs.
