POLICE RECORD (Buffalo Courier) -The number of persons taken into custody by the police during the 24 hours ending yesterday morning was nineteen of whom eleven were charged with drunkenness and disorderly conduct, two with malicious mischief, one with an assault with intent to do bodily harm, three with gambling, and one with vagrancy; one was arrested on a bench warrant. Nine cases were within the jurisdiction of the police court. Ten destitute applicants were allowed lodgings at the stationhouse Thursday night.

-Thomas Griffin was before the police court yesterday, charged with stealing wood to the value of a dollar from the Erie Railway, and upon conviction was sentenced to sixty days" imprisonment at the work house. -William O"Brian, a vagrant, was at his own request committed to the poor house for six months. -Cathering Korn was fined five dollars for an assault on Catherine Bateman. -Peter Garrity was fined ten dollars for an assault on his wife, Mary.
